In some ways, VIDA represented the first wave of powerful heavy metal bands with a bit of Latin flavor in the Dallas area during the mid 90's. In a large metal music scene, VIDA was able to distinguish themselves apart not only by their appearance but also by their bi-lingual melodic style. 4 kids from East Dallas of Mexican descent playing and singing heavy metal from Amarillo to Corpus Christie. VIDA translates to life in Spanish and life was good for this seemingly out of place foursome.
